Restaurants

Eating is a social affair and Hong Kong makes the most of it. Restaurants line every Hong Kong street – some high up in skyscrapers some in back alleys, some hidden away in the upstairs of buildings.

Apart from enjoying the best Cantonese and regional Chinese food, visitors can sample a full choice of authentic Asian cuisines and Western fare. Local must-try dishes are dim sum and fresh seafood, with some of the top examples found in award winning restaurants including many Michelin star rated.

Private kitchens are very popular. Some of the best chefs ply their trade in Hong Kong’s hidden speakeasies. Often tucked away in building without even a sign on the door.  Usually there are no menus, chefs using the freshest of ingredients on the day.

Dim sum is a wide range of delightful Chinese snacks served in bamboo baskets accompanied by Chinese tea. Having dim sum in Hong Kong is a unique experience you shouldn't miss.
